The Opportunity:
We’re looking for a Field Service Operations Coordinator to support a busy UK field engineering operation based in Hampshire for a leading transport technology business.
This is a varied, hands-on position working closely with field engineers and technicians, ensuring they have the operational support, parts, equipment, information and documentation required to deliver an effective service.
This would suit someone with previous experience supporting field engineers, maintenance teams or technical service operations who is organised, responsive and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational support to field engineers and technicians, responding to queries and escalating technical issues where appropriate.
- Track engineer utilisation, time worked and operational activity.
- Manage ServiceNow tickets, work orders and service documentation.
- Coordinate activity between field teams, customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Support procurement activities, including raising purchase orders, expediting parts and maintaining spare-parts availability.
- Coordinate equipment and parts logistics, including deliveries and tracking.
- Maintain accurate operational records, registers and tracking spreadsheets.
- Produce regular SLA and KPI reports and monitor performance against customer requirements.
- Support field-based technical audits and associated reporting and documentation.
- Coordinate contractors, work permits, inductions and compliance documentation.
- Process invoices and provide wider administrative support to the field operation.
- Support projects through planning, scheduling, documentation and coordination.
- Help identify opportunities to improve operational processes and service delivery.
Skills and Experience:
- 3+ years' experience in field service coordination, operations support, maintenance coordination, service administration or a similar environment.
- Previous experience working closely with field engineers, technicians or maintenance teams.
- Experience using ServiceNow or a similar ticketing/work-order management system.
- Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience maintaining operational records and producing accurate reports.
- The ability to coordinate multiple activities and changing priorities in a busy field service environment.
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with engineers, customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with Power BI, dashboards, operational data analysis or process improvement would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
